I know that eggs are a great source of protein, but they don't agree with me. What other foods could provide the protein that my body and muscles need? +
- Your protein can come from other food sources such as lean meats (think chicken, turkey), fish, nuts, low-fat dairy (greek yogurt), and legumes. You can also supplement with powdered whey or soy protein. Make sure to follow our "JCJ's Recipe Box" blog for egg-free recipe ideas!
I am sensitive to dairy and eggs - what alternatives can I use when cooking or baking? +
- Most of the time an easy swap for dairy is to use soy or almond milk. Depending on the recipe, applesauce or other fruit puree can be used in place of eggs...but sometimes the egg protein is necessary to bind your ingredients together, so this one isn't a sure solution. Give these a try, and if your favourite recipe just doesn't taste the same with the substitutions, call JCJ for a recipe makeover!
