I am super excited to be co-hosting this event with Nick. Fitness and Nutrition has always been a part of my life. In 2014, I trained with Nick to compete in my second fitness competition in which I placed 6th in my division! I couldn't train like the normal bodybuilder, my program consisted of intense strength training and a nutrition plan that had to work for me while still taking low dose chemotherapy. I had to still incorporate the chemo drug, Imatinib (Gleevec) into my training. This chemotherapy drug has prolonged my life and has allowed me to continue to do the things I love to do; like bodybuilding, running and swimming to name a few.
Without the funding, research & technology to help find a cure for blood cancer, I wouldn't have been able to run more races and compete in two fitness competitions (and possibly more)!
Please join us to help raise funds for the LLSC Calgary - Light the Night walk and awareness campaign in September, which is blood cancer month. Register for this event and let's have fun kicking cancer in the butt at our bootcamp! Help us continue the mission to help find a cure to end blood cancers.
